MEMBERSHIP
How do I become a member?
Regular Member
Only companies and universities may be regular members of the UIDP. Regular membership in the UIDP is for a limited term that ends on June 30, 2009. The cost is $4,000/year, paid annually, through June 30, 2009. Member organizations may send as many people as they wish to UIDP meetings. Those individuals pay no registration fees for meetings held at the National Academies in Washington, DC (1 meeting a year), but will be required to pay a registration fee sufficient to cover meeting costs for the offsite meetings (2 per year) of the UIDP. To become a regular member of the UIDP, simply sign and return the application form to uidp@nas.edu.
Founder’s Circle Member
Founder’s Circle Membership carries with it an obligation to support the UIDP at a minimum level of $50,000 for the 3 year (2006-2009) term. In return, Founder’s Circle Members may sit on the Executive Committee, are prominently featured in UIDP materials, and have the opportunity to host a UIDP meeting at their home location. Virtually any type of organization may be Founder’s Circle Member: companies, universities, foundations, agencies and associations, to name the most common. To become a Founder’s Circle Member, contact and submit the application form to uidp@nas.edu.
Friend
Friends of the UIDP are organizations who wish to send their employees/members to UIDP meetings but without entailing the obligations of membership. Any organization may become a Friend of the UIDP if one of its members/employees requests Friend status for the organization. This can be done in a one-line email sent to uidp@nas.edu. The email must contain the request for Friend status and full contact information for the individual who will serve as the point of contact between UIDP and that institution. After an institution is registered as a Friend, any of its employees/members may attend UIDP meetings.
