Contracting Webinar Series: Foreground IP

Intellectual property terms are a key component of university-industry partnerships. Foreground Intellectual Property (FIP) meaning potentially patentable inventions may be conceived and reduced to practice during the performance of an industry-sponsored research agreement. Negotiation of the FIP clauses helps to assure that the parties understand each other’s expectations regarding the probability of FIP, access to use, and control of it to enable commercialization or further development as appropriate.
This recorded webinar addresses various aspects of defining and allocating right in foreground intellectual property along with practical considerations and related in a sponsored research agreement. It is part of the 10-part UIDP Contracting Webinar series. Learn more.
