Associate Director, Sponsored Programs & Awards

OSPA is seeking to hire an Associate Director, Sponsored Programs & Awards. The incumbent will be charged with the responsibility of supervising and developing the OSPA staff in carrying out pre-award activities in support of approximately $100 million in sponsored funds related to review, approval and submission of official proposals routed through OSPA including reviewing proposals and negotiating agreements.  This position assures proposal compliance with sponsor agency guidelines and regulations, University policy and procedures, Board of Regents and State of Georgia requirements and ensures exceptional customer service orientation in OSPA.

Assistant Director, Research & Sponsored Programs Accounting
University of Notre Dame

This position will assist the Assistant Controller in ensuring, for the University’s portfolio of sponsored programs, financial compliance with all pertinent federal laws, Circulars, Regulations, institutional policies, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) applicable to higher education. The Assistant Director will manage and direct the accounting activities of six Sr. Accountants deployed throughout the University and will collaborate with Notre Dame Research Administration regarding post award fiscal administration of the University’s sponsored awards.

The position’s responsibilities include: reviewing complex grant awards to identify and address any areas of potential risk related to financial compliance; assist in the presentation of financial-related training programs, support interim and year-end responsibilities and other various audit tasks; manage the constructed equipment process associated with sponsored awards; and communicate with Principal Investigators and administrative personnel campus-wide regarding sponsored program fiscal matters, as necessary.

Assistant Vice President for Research

The Assistant VPR is expected to work to promote, enhance, and establish research partnerships with external parties including private industry, economic development groups, foundations, the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and the community as a whole. Additional responsibilities include assisting the VPR in maintaining the UT System’s research related compliance and reporting, including federal reporting requirements and internal dashboard metrics. This position will develop and communicates strategies, plans, and results to leadership including the UT Board of Trustees and state officials as requested. The Assistant VPR is expected to serve on appropriate boards and committees to represent the University of Tennessee.  Other duties are assigned as needed.

Associate Vice President Industry Engagement

Senior Grants & Contracts Manager (RAST Member)
