Joint Solicitation Comparison Tables
The tables in this resource focus on a relatively novel research funding approach in which the US National Science Foundation co-creates and co-funds research solicitations with companies. Government and industry co-funding calls for proposals (referred to as joint solicitations herein) are important, because they encourage collaboration between different organizations and sectors. The tables listed include details about which companies and NSF directorates have funded joint solicitations, different programs’ funding levels and award durations, the number of awards per solicitation, and the IP approach taken for a representative set of past NSF-company joint solicitations.

Public Dedication of IP Webinar
What does it mean to engage in research projects with a “public dedication” model? Under what circumstances would the key stakeholders in a research collaboration (universities, companies, individual researchers) prefer open IP to alternative models? What are some of the emerging best practices of open collaborative research based on the public dedication model? This webinar addresses these questions from the perspectives of universities, industry, and government, covering the basics of the motivation and the business case, as well as some emerging best practices.
