The Engineering Research Visioning Alliance (ERVA), is a UIDP-administered initiative with funding support from the National Science Foundation Engineering Directorate.
The purpose of the UIDP HBCU Initiative is to develop guidance that provides representatives from companies, federal agencies, HBCUs, and other universities with best practices for developing a mutually beneficial engagement strategy.
UIDP is undertaking a year-long effort to directly address the need to strengthen and modernize university-industry partnerships through bold approaches that dramatically increase impact from collaborative innovation.
UIDP hosted an informative webinar about how the demand for graduate- and doctoral-level internships that directly lead to industry careers is growing — and for good reason. Today’s science and engineering fields increasingly value the ability to translate academic expertise into real-world solutions. Dow’s ADISE (Advanced Digital Internships for Scientists and Engineers) program meets this need by giving students and early-career professionals hands-on experience at the cutting edge of science, engineering, and digital technology. By bridging traditional research with modern digital tools, ADISE prepares participants to thrive in the evolving landscape of science and engineering careers.
This webinar showcased an inside look at how Dow has designed the ADISE program to deliver meaningful, impactful industry experiences. Participants learned about the program structure, the types of projects interns tackle, and the support mechanisms that ensure success. Participants left with actionable strategies and a blueprint for developing similar internships, equipping faculty mentors and industry partners to create high-value opportunities for the next generation of scientific talent.
Agenda highlights included:
Inside the ADISE Program: Explored how Dow structures the ADISE program to provide high-impact, hands-on experiences at the intersection of science, engineering, and digital technology.
Real-World Projects in Action: Participants discovered the types of projects interns tackle and how these experiences prepare participants for successful careers in industry.
Blueprint for Success: Participants gained practical strategies and best practices for designing and supporting graduate- and doctoral-level internships that bridge academia and industry.
