UIDP Webinar: Unlocking Tomorrow’s Innovation | Samsung Research America’s Collaboration Programs

UIDP hosted an informative webinar about Samsung’s Research Collaboration Programs on Wednesday, October 22, from 1 to 2 p.m. ET.

Participants learned how Samsung Research America (SRA) is helping to shape the future of technology by forging strategic partnerships with universities and startups across North America. Through its suite of collaboration programs, SRA fuels groundbreaking research, accelerates commercialization, and helps early-stage companies scale transformative ideas.

In this webinar, participants gained an inside look at three flagship programs—with special focus on LEAP-U, including past areas of interest and a preview of Samsung’s priorities for 2026:

  • START: Supports early-stage academic research and proof-of-concept development.
  • LEAP-U: Translates university innovations from lab to market through partnerships with researchers and technology transfer offices.
  • LEAP-S: Engages startups with funding, mentorship, and access to Samsung expertise.

This session offered a unique opportunity to better understand how SRA’s programs operate and how to get involved. Participants learned about program structures, eligibility requirements, and application processes while exploring ways their innovations can align with Samsung’s global R&D strategy.
