Center for Advanced Design and Manufacturing of Integrated Microfluidics (CADMIM): An NSF Industry-University Cooperative Research Center Webinar (2018)
Analytics are needed everywhere –
The environment, agriculture, food and water supplies, and ultimately for human health and safety. The center will advance interdisciplinary research and education in the science, engineering, and applications of labs-on-a-chip, with emphasis on design and scalable production. The Center for Advanced Design and Manufacturing and Microfluidics (CADMIM) focuses on the development and translation of highly functional platforms equipped with microfluidic components – chip-sized devices with high sensitivities and short reaction times, capable of biochemical analyses in miniaturized volumes.
CADMIM‘s mission is to develop microscale tools and technologies aimed at simpler, faster, and cheaper analytical solutions addressing human health, agriculture, and the environment. This webinar provided details of the center’s operation, funding, intellectual property, project selection, and management.
About the NSF IUCRC Webinar Series:
Hosted by Iowa State and UIDP, The NSF IUCRC Program is supporting a new initiative to feature up to 10 IUCRC Centers in public webinars hosted by UIDP.org. Join us for bi-monthly, hour-long webinars to learn more about IUCRC Centers. During the webinars, leading researchers from the various sites will provide a brief overview of the current R&D efforts followed by an open discussion period where attendees can ask questions of the presenters.
