UIDP Webinar: Pitch Perfect on Campus | How Universities Are Preparing Faculty for Industry Engagement

This webinar offered an inside look at how universities are using Pitch Perfect, a UIDP-developed workshop curriculum, to help faculty understand the benefits and challenges of working with industry and effectively engage with prospective industry sponsors. Speakers from the University of Georgia (UGA) and the University of Vermont (UVM) shared how they have implemented the curriculum on their campuses. At UGA, it was integrated into the launch of their Industry Forward program and recent symposium, while at UVM, faculty participants continue to engage through a quarterly industry engagement cohort following a Pitch Perfect workshop delivered on campus.

Attendees gained insight into how institutions utilize the curriculum in ways that align not only with faculty needs, but also with the larger R&D agenda.

Discussion Topics:

Institutional Approaches: How UGA and UVM are implementing Pitch Perfect to support faculty–industry engagement.
Sustaining Momentum: Examples of different models for continuing impact, from formal programs to ongoing faculty cohorts.
Strategic Alignment: Approaches for aligning Pitch Perfect with institutional R&D priorities and partnership goals.
