UIDP Academy Workshop: Data in Clinical and Non-Clinical Agreements

This workshop will be held at UIDP26 in San Jose. In this workshop, we will hear from industry and university representatives who are involved in issues regarding the exchange and use of data and how to address these in university/industry agreements.
Workshop Overview
This session will take a broad view of issues related to the generation, ownership, exchange, and use, including permitted and restricted uses, of data in university/industry projects. Issues such as opt-out and broad consents, use of publicly accessible data, and non-human proprietary data exchange, export control restrictions, privacy, security, intellectual property, and other practical considerations will be discussed. Particular attention will be paid to addressing data in industry sponsored and university/industry collaborative projects.

Workshop Format
The workshop panelists will describe issues, trends, and nuances of data use, exchange and related agreements in university/industry projects from their unique perspectives. The workshop will be highly participatory with examples and discussion between the attendees and panelists. Both the panelists and the attendees will have the opportunity to present challenges they have encountered and strategies they have used to address them.
Who Should Attend
This workshop is targeted to corporate and academic representatives familiar with basic underlying principles of data ownership and use and who are interested in learning more about current trends and strategies for data provisions in university-company projects agreements.
In order to maximize direct engagement among attendees and speakers, attendance is limited.
