Mitacs is a Canadian nonprofit organization that has designed and delivered research and training programs for 17 years. Working with 60 universities, thousands of companies, and both federal and provincial governments, Mitacs builds partnerships that support industrial and social innovation.
This webinar will explore ways in which higher education, government, and industry can collaborate to co-develop next generation technologies with prospective procurement chains and customers to advance strategic partnerships. We will look at one Canadian model in which graduate students are mobilized to act as conduits to promote applied research and technology transfer across various sectors and build/support B2B collaborations via university applied research.
Together, we will explore how a company can identify R&D projects which drive industrial and social innovation; attract and retain talent; and develop the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs.
Presenters
Lissa Matyas is the Vice-President of International Partnerships at Mitacs. She has twenty years of experience spanning international R&D partnership development, graduate program development and graduate student training, university strategic planning, stakeholder relationship management, and marketing.
Jesse Vincent-Herscovici is the Vice-President of Business Development at Mitacs. He is responsible for the Major and Strategic Accounts initiative and national Account Management team, in addition to handling a set of accounts.
