CRENEL Co-chair to Present Findings at UIDP21

We’re pleased to announce we’re hosting a UIDP Special Presentation in Knoxville later this year, with Dr. Jared Cohon, co-chair of the Commission to Review the Effectiveness of the National Energy Laboratories (CRENEL). The Commission was established to assess whether the Department of Energy’s national labs are aligned with the DOE’s strategic priorities and have the capabilities required to meet the United States’ energy and national security challenges. The Commission was also tasked with looking for opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the use of lab-directed R&D (read more here).

Our guests will join us to provide much anticipated insights into the findings of their second phase CRENEL report (read the Interim Report from Phase One here). The National Labs are widely regarded as playing a key role in the country’s innovation ecosystem, and this report is expected to detail the steps that national labs can take to improve the competitiveness of the United States.
