The 4th Generation University: Catalyzing Regional Innovation and Societal Impact

Elsevier presented insights from their new report on the “4th generation university,” an emerging model exemplified by Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) which is now moving forward with multiple global collaboration partners. This concept champions a university’s integrated role in education, research, and local innovation, with a focus on driving societal impact and regional economic growth. Ann Gabriel explored TU/e’s partnerships with industry leaders and startups in the Brainport region and highlighted how such collaborations are advancing the future of higher education and regional development.

Legislative Update

Leslee Gilbert, Van Scoyoc Associates

U.S. federal legislation is having a greater impact on university-industry partnerships. Leslee Gilbert discussed current and future federal legislation as well as initiatives supporting collaborations.
