myUIDP: An Online Community and Member Directory

Your UIDP Member Network & Directory

One of the most valuable parts of UIDP membership is the community itself.

The UIDP Member Network & Directory, myUIDP, is both a networking tool and the place where member representatives can manage their UIDP profile. It helps representatives from member organizations find and connect with peers across universities, industry, government, nonprofits, and the broader research partnership ecosystem.

Whether you’re looking for someone who has tackled a similar challenge, exploring potential partnerships, preparing for a UIDP event, updating your contact information, or simply trying to expand your professional network, myUIDP gives you a place to start.

What Can You Do in myUIDP?

Use the member network and directory to:

  • Find people across the UIDP community and learn more about the organizations represented in the network.
  • Identify peers with relevant roles, experience, or interests who may be helpful as you work through a challenge or explore a new opportunity.
  • Make connections before and after UIDP events so conversations don’t have to begin—or end—in the meeting room.
  • Build your university-industry network beyond the people you already know.
  • Stay connected with colleagues you meet through UIDP and turn event conversations into longer-term professional relationships.
  • Discover potential collaborators for projects, programs, research partnerships, and other opportunities.
  • Review and update your own member profile and contact information so your information stays current.

Think of myUIDP not simply as a directory, but as a way to access the people, experience, and connections within the UIDP community.

New to UIDP? Start by Creating Your Profile

UIDP membership belongs to the member organization, which means participation is not limited to a single individual.

Employees of UIDP member organizations who would benefit from the community are encouraged to create their own UIDP account and become active member representatives.

If you’re new to UIDP, you can register using your work email address to get started.

Once you create your account, take a few minutes to complete your profile. An informative profile makes it easier for other members to understand who you are, what you work on, and why they may want to connect with you.

Consider including:

  • Your current role and organization
  • Your areas of responsibility
  • Topics or partnership areas you work on
  • Professional interests or areas where you would welcome connections
  • A current photo
  • Up-to-date contact information

The more useful information members provide, the more valuable the directory becomes for everyone.

Need Help Accessing Your Account?

If you have trouble logging in, aren’t sure whether you already have an account, or need help getting connected to your organization’s UIDP membership, email the UIDP Membership Team, and we’ll be glad to assist.

Fill out our contact form or email info@uidp.net.

We can help with account access, registration questions, and making sure you’re connected to the right member organization.

Keep Your Information Up to Date

myUIDP is also where member representatives can review and update their own contact and profile information.

Keeping your information current helps UIDP and other members know how to reach you and understand your role, responsibilities, and areas of interest.

You can use your profile to update information such as:

  • Your job title or role
  • Contact information
  • Organization details
  • Professional interests and areas of responsibility
  • Your profile photo and other personal details

We encourage representatives to review their information periodically—especially after a change in role, responsibilities, or contact information.

An up-to-date profile not only helps UIDP stay connected with you; it also makes the directory more useful for colleagues who may be looking for someone with your experience or expertise.

Make the Most of the Network

The strongest UIDP connections often begin with a specific question, challenge, or shared interest.

Search with a Purpose

Instead of only browsing by organization, think about who you are trying to meet and why.

You might use the network to find someone who:

  • Works in corporate research partnerships at another university
  • Manages university collaborations within an industry organization
  • Has experience with a contracting, IP, or sponsored research issue
  • Is developing a program similar to one you are considering
  • Works in a research or technology area your organization wants to explore
  • Could provide a useful peer perspective on a challenge you are facing

Connect Around UIDP Events

The directory can also help you get more value from UIDP meetings and events.

Before an event, identify members or organizations you would like to meet. Afterward, use myUIDP to reconnect with people you met and continue conversations sparked during sessions, Lunch Table Topics, workshops, or informal networking.

These connections can help turn a one-time event conversation into an ongoing professional relationship.

Ask UIDP to Help Make a Connection

You don’t have to navigate the network alone.

If you are trying to connect with a particular type of organization, role, or expertise and aren’t sure where to begin, reach out to the UIDP team. We may be able to help identify members in the community who would be useful connections.

Bring Your Colleagues Into the Community

One person does not have to carry your organization’s UIDP membership.

If you have colleagues who work in research partnerships, corporate relations, sponsored research, contracting, technology transfer, economic development, research strategy, workforce development, or other areas connected to university-industry collaboration, encourage them to create their own UIDP accounts.

New colleagues can register with their work email address here.

Bringing more of your colleagues into the network can help your organization:

  • Build relationships across more parts of the UIDP community
  • Connect the right internal experts with their external peers
  • Extend the value of UIDP resources and events across your organization
  • Create more opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing
  • Keep more colleagues informed and engaged with UIDP

Your Network Is a Member Benefit—Use It

UIDP brings together people who spend their careers building, managing, and improving university-industry partnerships. myUIDP gives you a way to access that community year-round—not just when you attend an event.

Complete your profile. Keep your information current. Explore the directory. Introduce yourself. Ask a question. Make a connection.

The more you engage with the UIDP network, the more valuable the network can become for you and your organization.
