We know how challenging it can be to identify new partners. Finding the right combination of shared values and strategic and technical competencies can take a lot of time and effort. That’s why the UIDP offers several ways to support our members in this process.

What do Deere and Company, PepsiCo and Cisco have in common? They’ve all done UIDP webinars about the research problems they want to solve and the capabilities and competencies they’re looking for in new partners.

Organizations like Dupont, Harris, IBM and MIT have all taken advantage of timeslots at our general meetings to showcase their research needs and partnership approaches. These short presentations are a great way to open doors to new collaborations.

What better way to build new relationships than by working with others to examine issues of mutual interest? The UIDP often convenes workshops on specialized topics for members and non-members alike. Most recently, we have organized events about life beyond academia for STEM PhD students, as well as around the topics of healthcare resilience, service innovation and t-shaped education models.

Silicon Valley, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia… every year we hold invitation-only networking events around North America with the goal of germinating new relationships. We invite organizations our members want to meet, as well as those we think could benefit from what UIDP offers.

We have an extensive global network and often facilitate connections, either when our members ask for introductions, or when we spot a potential collaborative opportunity.

As we said at the start, we know how challenging it can be to identify potential partners. There are several ways UIDP can help! Contact us at info@uidp.net to get the ball rolling.
