UIDP Webinar: DOE SBIR-STTR | Advancing Innovation Through Commercialization

This informational webinar highlighted how the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is advancing innovation and accelerating the commercialization of emerging technologies through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. This webinar featuring Frank Salomone, Director of Small Business Research Grants of the DOE Office of Technology Commercialization, for an inside look at the current state of SBIR and STTR. Salomone discussed DOE’s broader commercialization efforts and provided insights into the upcoming SBIR/STTR funding opportunity, including what it means for the research and innovation community. The session also highlighted the Lab-Embedded Entrepreneurship Program, which connects entrepreneurs with the expertise, facilities, and resources of DOE’s national laboratories to help move promising technologies toward market.
