UI Collab Webinar: How Will University Innovation Hubs Shape the Future of Work?

Learn what leaders from 11 university-affiliated innovation hubs have to say about tomorrow’s work, workplace, and workforce during this insightful webinar, which offered a first look at the findings from a 2025 report, How Will University Innovation Hubs Shape the Future of Work? Published by Innovate Carolina, the university-wide initiative for innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic development at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the report offers hub leaders actionable strategies to:

  • Align innovation hubs and their communities with key technologies, skills, and place-based strategies essential to the future of work.
  • Help students and professionals develop the skills to thrive in future jobs or entrepreneurial ventures.
  • Equip people to work effectively with emerging technologies.
  • Design modes of work and environments that align with future work trends.
  • Build strong partnerships that drive future-of-work initiatives.

In May 2024, Innovate Carolina, UIDP, and UI Collab convened 50 innovation hub leaders from more than 20 states in Chapel Hill to explore the roles hubs play in driving the future of work. The report is based on in-depth interviews with 11 of those participants. This webinar provided a first look at key insights from the report and how they can serve as a practical roadmap for innovation hubs nationwide.
