UIDP Webinar Recording: Legislative Realities for the New Administration and 117th Congress
This webinar explores major federal research and economic development initiatives on the horizon and the road to passage in the 117th Congress. While the Biden administration and many democrats in Congress have goals of substantially expanding the scope of federal funding for research, development, and commercialization of technologies in certain areas, the realities of a closely divided Congress will likely slow the movement of the president’s agenda and limit the scope of what can be achieved. Many pieces of legislation will be crafted quickly and policy platforms will be shaped early, but passage and final compromises will inch forward slowly. Leslee Gilbert discusses how organizations should approach the new administration and Congress to maximize their chances of success in the long run.
