UIDP Webinar Recording: Machine Learning: What It Is and What Its Applications Are
Machine learning is becoming part of our everyday lives, from autonomous vehicles, smart home devices, cell phones and even in the games we play. This webinar covered the basics of machine learning, its applications, and where the future may lead this technology. In general, machine learning uses interdisciplinary techniques such as statistics, linear algebra, and optimization to create automated systems that can sift through large volumes of data at high speeds to make predictions or decisions for us that in the past had to be made by humans. This technology is exciting as well as a bit unnerving as we continue to move forward into a new era of what was once thought of as science fiction.
