UIDP Survey | Perception of Industry Engagement in Universities 2020-2021
In the COVID-19 environment, UIDP was interested to learn about our members’ perception of university-industry research relationship investment anticipated for the next academic year. Will it increase, decrease, or remain the same? See the survey report.
In a survey fielded to both university and industry membership May 18-25, 2020, UIDP found that a majority (61%) project investment will decline in the 2020-2021 academic year. More than a third believe it will remain stable, but none of those responding believed it would increase.
A strong majority of industry and academic respondents (84%) said they were likely or very likely to pursue new partnerships. Among industry members only, the strength of the strategic partnership plays a clear role in which partners are receiving the most funding now.
