HBCU Initiative Support Services: Request for Information (RFI)
Since 2021, UIDP has organized a dedicated Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Initiative with a singular goal of helping these institutions build program and research capacity; more information on this initiative can be found here. As part of this comprehensive effort, UIDP holds an annual forum (HBCU Engage) that strengthens connections between HBCUs and external partners from academia, government, industry, and the nonprofit sectors. Participants discuss best practices, identify partnership opportunities, and develop innovative solutions that drive economic and workforce development. Through interactive sessions, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, HBCU Engage fosters meaningful collaborations that benefit HBCUs and potential partners.
UIDP seeks to identify an individual or organization that can strategically support this effort.
Specific requirements:
- Actively promote the initiative and its various activities with relevant HBCU representatives
- Conduct individual outreach to HBCU representatives to gather market intelligence on topics of interest
- Develop relationships with local co-hosts for each annual meeting
- Attend up to six one-hour local co-host planning calls
- Identify potential investors in the program
- Attend the annual convening, HBCU Engage, and participate in various roles as needed
The selected individual or firm will:
- Have the opportunity to network with HBCU leaders and other key stakeholders.
- Bolster its recognition as a leader in fostering HBCU-industry collaboration.
- Be provided the following benefits for HBCU Engage 2026: o Two event registrations
- Opportunity to facilitate a session at HBCU Engage 2026
- Exhibitor table
- Exhibitor profile in the app
- Access to attendee profiles within the event app
Eligibility. The program is open to individuals and for-profit and nonprofit organizations with relevant experience working with HBCUs who can commit to providing support from June 2025 to May 2026.
Review Criteria. UIDP will use the following criteria for this RFI:
- Experience: Prior knowledge and experience working with HBCUs on relevant topics
- Work Quality: Demonstrated excellence from prior work.
- Cost Effectiveness: Propose a budget that offers a high return on investment
